Jenny Anderson, B.S. in Microbiology, Minor in Molecular Biology
Meet Jenny Anderson, True Northwest’s new Lab Director. She has a B.S. in Microbiology with a minor in Molecular Biology from Washington State University. During university, she volunteered in an infectious disease laboratory studying Campylobacter jejuni. Through this experience she was able to win a College of Sciences grant to pursue study on her Honors thesis on virulence proteins.
Following her lab experience in college, she joined a plant pathology laboratory studying Enterobacter cloacae infection of onions. This position involved PCR identification of field isolates and infection studies. She then spent six years operating a small business with her husband in the Olympia area.
Before joining the True Northwest team, she was the Microbiology Supervisor at a drinking water, waste water, and cannabis testing laboratory. She has served as True Northwest’s Supervisor of Microbiology and Mycotoxins for one year before becoming the lab’s director.
Jenny draws from her years of experience in research, bench work, method development, quality control, compliance, and small business ownership.
She is excited to continue to uphold True Northwest’s high standards in science to provide ethical, reproducible, accurate, and timely data to the clients of True Northwest.
In her free time she spends time with her husband and two kids and enjoys gardening, camping, and wine tasting.
